http://stats.statbroadcast.com/broadcast/?id=459211 will have statistics.

https://www.flohoops.com/live/49165 will have video. Monmouth says the announcers will be Matt Janus and Monika Moore, so a woman gets to broadcast the CAA Tournament.

What a first half for Monmouth to kick off the tournament.

The Hawks lead Hampton 55-32 at halftime. They have ties Charleston's CAA tournament record (set against Hofstra last year) for points in a half and they are already just six points shy of their season average of 61.0 ppg.

Monmouth shot 63.3% (19/30), including 72.7% (8/11) from 3, while making all nine of their FTA.

I watched the end of the first half, and Monmouth did something so impressive that I wonder if it has ever happened in CAA history, and I mean the whole season, not just the Tournament. Monmouth leads 55-34 at halftime. Jack Collins (25 points) and Myles Ruth (10 points) combined to outscore Hampton without missing a field goal or free throw. I wonder when the last time any team had more points at halftime from players who did not miss than however many points they allowed. Collins is halfway to Dre Smith's CAA record of 10 threes without missing. Monmouth is on pace to have a player score 50 and have five double-digit scorers! Russell "Deuce" Dean scored 14 for Hampton. Kyrese Mullen has 6 rebounds, which is as many as Monmouth's top two combined, and it must be rare to have any point in a game when a team is down at least 21 points while their leading rebounder has at least as many as the top two players on the winning team combined. Each team has 15 rebounds. Monmouth has 15 assists, and Hampton has 3. The last time we had at least as many assists as rebounds was when we had 23 rebounds and 24 assists in an 87-66 win hosting James Madison on January 5, 2006. The second half has started, and now Monmouth leads 61-36 and has 18 rebounds and 16 assists.

Edit: Monmouth entered average 3.97 threes made per game, which is the fewest of 363 teams, and Collins made 5 in the first half. I wonder if he is the first player on a team with the fewest threes made per game to make at least 5 threes without missing in the first half.

Edit: Collins missed a three, so he cannot break Dre Smith's CAA record of 10 without missing. Monmouth leads 64-42.

They had already matched their season high of 61.0 ppg with 18:12 still left.

And keep in mind, this is happening after Monmouth got swept by Hampton this year, with one of those losses by 17 at home.

Monmouth got the last bucket of the game with :25 left to get to triple digits and to replace Hofstra with Hampton for suffering the worst loss in CAA tournament history.

Georgia State beat Hofstra by 35 in the 2012 tournament. Today, Monmouth barely surpasses that margin, winning 100-64.

Monmouth won 100-64. Jack Collins scored 32, and Monmouth had five players score at least 11. Hampton's Quinton Livingston made his only shot, but fouled out including a technical in 8 minutes. I wonder if that is the least time played in a CAA Tournament game by a player who fouled out. After having 15 rebounds and 15 assists in the first half, Monmouth had 21 rebounds and 6 assists in the second half. Monmouth had five players tie for the team lead with 5 rebounds, and had players get every amount of assists from 0 to 6. Monmouth shot threes better than twos, and made 22 of 24 free throws. It was the first CAA Tournament game in which both teams scored a square number. The previous closest game to that was when 9 seed Towson defeated 8 seed Us 81-66 in the 2008 First Round, when we scored 2 more than a square number.

Wags typed as I was typing, and thank you. I did not think about checking the record for largest margin of victory. I wonder if they are the first team in any conference to get the worst seed and break the conference tournament record for margin of victory.

Either the Tribe or Phoenix will beat the other one and play Us to have consecutive games in which neither team had a plural name.

William & Mary leads Elon 34-27 at halftime. Both teams shot threes better than twos, and the teams combined to shoot threes better than free throws. Elon shot threes 4-9 and free throws 1-6. William & Mary's Miguel Ayesa leads all scorers with 14, and he made a two for the third time this season. He entered the game with 288 career threes attempted and 20 career twos attempted. Ben Wight had 2 points and 9 rebounds. They committed only 4 turnovers. Elon's Sam Sherry shot 5-6 to score 10, and had 8 rebounds, but missed both free throws. Rookie of the Year Max Mackinnon had 2 points, 1 rebound, and 1 assist.

https://www.flohoops.com/live/49165 has video.

Edit: William & Mary won 73-51. After the break, Drexel plays Monmouth.

A day after scoring 100, it took Monmouth 10:47 to score, and they trailed 18-0. Drexel led by as much as 23, and Monmouth improved late in the half to trail 35-19. Monmouth has 1 assist and 10 turnovers. The teams combined to commit 30 fouls, with three players having 3 (combining for 9 fouls in 21 minutes), and eight players having 2. http://stats.statbroadcast.com/broadcast/?id=459213 has statistics.

Edit: Drexel won 64-45.

http://stats.statbroadcast.com/broadcast/?id=459214 has statistics of Stony Brook vs. North Carolina A&T. Stony Brook leads 43-34 with 16:05 left.

Ha! I love these tidbits. Along the same lines, now that we know it's W&M, I always think of how Tribe and Pride sound sort of similar and almost rhyme whenever they play each other. I wonder if it's difficult for fans watching on TV (or via streaming) to discern between "Let's go Tribe!" or "Let's go Pride!" chants.

I also can't recall as much as a 55-point scoring swing or as much of a 55-point margin swing for a team from one game to the next in any tournament.

I wouldn't be shocked at all if Drexel beats UNCW and then gives HU a bit of a scare for a while should it come to that on Monday.

Stony Brook trailed 14-0. The games have had progressively smaller margins of 36, 22, 19, 15, and that is likely to continue because Delaware leads Northeastern 38-37 at halftime. Northeastern made 75 percent of their twos, and all of their free throws, but shot threes 1-9. Delaware had only 12 rebounds. Jameer Nelson Jr. is trying to expand his scoring lead, as he has 15. Northeastern's Joe Pridgen has 7 points and 5 rebounds.

Delaware hangs on in OT to advance, 77-74.

Northeastern-Delaware might've been the best matchup in the CAA this year. Northeastern won at home by one, Delaware won by three at home and Delaware won the rubber match by three in OT.
