Top 10 or so players to come out of Nassau/Suff.

Post by fiftiespride »

Since I have been gone since 66, I will offer up some candidates from the "early' years and defer to you young whippersnappers to cover more recent times. Carl Braun-Garden City, Ernie Vandewege Art Heyman-Oceanside, Jimmy Brown-Manhasset, Wally Szerbiack-CSH?, Connie Dierking-Valley Stream, Wandy Williams-Malvern, Ron Johnson-Sea Cliff. Since I went to Sea Cliff high, I concede Johnson might be a bit of a stretch but he was the 2nd high scorer at 28 a game in 53 on the Island next to JB's 38 a game which is what teams were scoring. Ronnie went to Kansas and played on championship teams with the Stilt and would have been a super star at most places. My apologies for any misspellings.

Cool thread...

Wally no doubt.

I'm sure Stu will go in on the Harris family :D

Would Agudio make this list from Walt Whitman? Talent / Success -wise I mean. Does for me, but has to be vetted by longer term folks I think lol.

Since we're talking "or so" and not limiting to Top 10, I'll offer Antoine Agudio (Huntington Station).

This can certainly be done for multiple sports and each gender but I was focused exclusively on men's basketball.
