Only Two Players Average At Least 1 Assist

Post by EvanJ »

Burgess averages 5.2 assists, Ray averages 3.7, and Coburn is third with 14 in 15 games. Even if one guy gets a ton of assists, having only two players average at least 1 assist is hard. We had five players average at least 1 assist in both seasons we had Juan'ya Green. In 2018-2019, UNCW's Kai Toews broke the CAA record with 253 assists, and they had four players average at least 1 assist. Since we joined the CAA, our fewest players to average at least 1 assists was two in 2012-2013 when we averaged 58.5 points, and arguably two in our first season in the CAA in 2001-2002. I say arguably because Joel Suarez had 50 assists in 16 games. He didn't play in 75 percent of our games that is necessary to qualify, but we played 32 games and he had 1.6 assists per team game, so I think he should count as at least 1 assist per game.
