It's great that you knew that. I will tell Hofstra they were wrong in saying this was our second ranked win because we previous beat Southern Illinois (who was 18th in both polls then) and George Mason.
Evan, that's what old SIDs are for!

Nothing personal Stu but is that sort of like one of your April fools jokes but in December? You know full well we were a D1 team in 76-77. That was a great team with Laurel, Irving, Rood, Kammerer 23-7 RECORD. We played N.D. tough at the Palestra in the First round of the NCAA tourney. We got there by beating a LaSalle team to win the ECC championship. That same LaSalle team that our coach Joe Mihalich a 6' guard played for. Well if John Irving and Kammerer didn't foul out in that game well who knows. I was at that game great memories but a victory would have been incredible. Laurel had 35 points.

I got your back Stu but great times back then with some very special players and quite a few of us remember how good some of those players were.

One of my fondest early memories of Hofstra life was the student bus trip to the Palestra. If my memory serves refs call two cheap fouls on Irving early and to the bench he went, along with their chances. Richie played his arse off but couldn't carry them to the next round. Valiant effort.

I remember hearing Irving complaining to the refs. Telling them “to let us play”. Laurel was a great player but ND had a lot of good players. I sort of remember our guard Coleman taking some ill advised shots. Just my recollection anyway. Rood had a good game as well as Laurel.

HUSID When I went back and looked at the box score it showed Willie starting and playing 34 minutes but also showed Coleman getting 12 minutes shooting 1/3 scoring 4 points. IDK which is right I actually thought Tomlin was still playing but he must have graduated the year before.

Wow thought he graduated the year before...Tomlin definitely did.. If Bernard was one that team vs. Notre Dame we would have won the game!
