Re: No Game
It seems that Monmouth's first three games against HU, Maryland and St. Francis(Brooklyn) have been canceled. How about contacting Maryland and St Francis and see if a game could be arranged? It would seem to me the trip to and from Brooklyn or Maryland should be fairly easy if there is a mutual agreement.
Re: No Game
UGH that stinks! Thought we might get lucky and start unscathed! Alas... will be the nature of the beast this season. I bet Farrelly will gladly take the extra practice time though and ready for a very tough contest against a legit Rutgers club.
Agree, should be on the horn to get a replacement, clearly not for tonight but HU still needs more games, especially to replace this lost one.

That really sucks was so looking forward to watching some HU basketball. Does anyone think this cancellation behooves us in any way??
Re: No Game
More rest and Hofstra gets to scout Rutgers (playing tonight) on film while there are no games yet for Rutgers to scout Hofstra. So, slight benefits there.triplec2195 wrote:That really sucks was so looking forward to watching some HU basketball. Does anyone think this cancellation behooves us in any way??
But Rutgers also got to shake off the rust (they are wrapping up an easy win right now, up 86-63 in the final seconds) whereas Hofstra has to play a good team going in cold. Those are big disadvantages that probably override the above advantages.
Re: No Game
Good news - according to Elias, the last year in which Hofstra had a game cancelled, they won the CAA.
Re: No Game
ha, nice cactus lol
Seems that Gio Baker, the Rutgers star, may have tweaked his ankle tonight... we'll see if he's a go on Sunday.
Glad that HU will have extra time to prep, that's going to be a tough one. If they can squeeze out an early W here, it will look awesome by season end. Keeping it competitive is a must either way though, no blowouts, come ready to play.
