I don't want to get political on this site, but I'll take his sympathy for what it's worth since Francesa also tweeted an admission in the same day that while he's been a big supporter of the President, he said the President hasn't handled this crisis well at all. Maybe if Francesa and others with influence had thrown their support somewhere else four years ago, we'd have had much better leadership today and been ahead of this crisis instead of behind it, like we are, and maybe it wouldn't have been the serious issue it is in this country right now - first and foremost, for American citizens' health, but at this far less serious level, maybe we'd have also had an NCAA tournament for Hofstra to play in.
Its bad enough that after 19 years of frustration for the program and the players and us fans but please do me a favor (all due respect) don't bring POLITICS into this discussion. IMO there's no place for POLITICS here its so devastating that on the simplest levels(amateur) and what should be pure and innocent gets tarnished with this constant POLITICAL divide. I realize this is a somewhat naive narrative but lets just make this about the schools, coaches, fans and most of all the kids that have given so much to the sports that they love. SAD SO VERY SAD BUT DON'T PLAY THE BLAME GAME!!!
Fair enough. Only mentioned it in response to the first comment about Francesa (which I didn't make) because I think Francesa's "sympathy" for Hofstra (which he only talks about in years when the team has any realistic chance in March) should be seen for what it's worth.
I see where you're coming from Wags when it comes to Francesa who is one of the most self-righteous people around and I think you either love him or despise him kinda like the POTUS but I'll say this when it comes to rescheduling games and making this NCAA tourney happen NO or IMPOSSIBLE shouldn't be in the conversation. Almost everything is doable and where there's a will there's a way. They should leave the door open for this and this cancellation should be re-visited(revoked) and adopt the phrase let's find a way to make this happen for the benefit of everyone these games impact but obviously first and foremost the players(kids) who make this great sport what it is and who have earned this.
