HU up 40-26 at the half. They didn't shoot well (43.3%, 13/30), but like they did at San Diego in the first half, they got to the line. This is starting to become a consistent thing for them lately and it's a good sign. HC 3/7 FTs in the half, but HU 11/12 -- that difference in makes at the line more than half of their 14-point lead.

11-5 run to start the second half. HU has opened a 51-31 lead a little over there minutes into the second half.

This is a take-care-of-business game and they're pulling away like it.

We lead 61-38. Holy Cross committed their sixth foul with 14:35, so we are in the bonus after their next foul, and we've made all 8 free throws in the second half to make 19-20!

This one's over. 74-52 with under 8 left.

They did what they had to do against a bad team.

Buie back on track with a game-high 21 pts on just 8 shots. He's 9/9 at the line to lead a 20-point advantage at the line (HU 25/26, HC just 5/9).

Good way to forget about that second half in San Diego. Canisius next.

I hate to point out the negative on a game we're up big, but Holy Cross is currently shooting over 63% in the second half, and over 50% for the game.
Luckily we're doing other things well so it's not a big deal for this game, but can't let that happen against better teams.

I think you chalk that up to giving up easy shots in a game you know is over. You'd like to see the intensity maintained over the whole game, but I wouldn't worry too much about that in a game like this. It can actually be seen as a positive, that you win by 20+ and it's never really a game despite allowing that type of shooting in the second half and overall for the game.

Burgess came in with 4:37 left, so we've used 11 players, who are everybody except Gibson Jr. and Klementowicz. That includes Miranda who played 5 seconds and hopefully will play more.

Edit: Miranda came in with 3:01 left, and Klementowicz entered with 1:41 left. Gibson Jr. didn't play, and I don't know if it was announced but we're knowing or assuming Cramer is redshirting.

Edit: We won 91-69. All five starters scored double-digits with 21 by Buie, 16 by Pemberton, 16 by Ray, 12 by Coburn, and 12 by Kante. Our bench points were 8 by Silverio, 4 by Trueheart, and 2 by Schutte with 2:24 left. The bench played 64 minutes. Kante led all players with 8 rebounds. Silverio was second on us with 6, which is surprising considering he entered averaging only 1.1 rebounds, which is now 1.8. Coburn and Trueheart had 4 rebounds, and Pemberton and Ray had 3. Buie had 5 of our 11 assists, 4 steals, and avoided mistakes with 1 foul and no turnovers. With 11 assists and 17 turnovers, our ratio got much worse.

We made 31 of 35 free throws (.886), which is our most makes since we made 37 of 42 in an 87-82 win at Towson on February 18, 2015. That was 146 games ago.

Drew Louder, who entered averaging 16.0 points and 3.7 assists, played 14 minutes and got injured. He's a freshman, and he was their only player averaging double-digits.

The Golden Griffins tomorrow at 2 pm. Hope this doesn't turn into another San Diego - like loss. We need to beat MAAC conference teams.

To add to the lack of D already mentioned this game resembled a HS game at times.I don’t know who #23 is but he was killing us in the paint scoring against our bigs almost every time he touched the ball. It was nice too see Kante hitting most of his FT’s. Trueheart for most of his minutes just played poorly. I’ll say no more about this.

That was Joe Pridgen, who entered averaging 9.5 points and shooting well.

We average 7 more free throws made per game than our opponents. That is a little better than last season's +6.94 free throws made per game differential.

I was a sloppy game with at least 40 turnovers combined for both teams. We still need to button up some things on D . Also even though we scored 91 points I think we had around only 10 assts or so. Need to get more ball movement. HC is terrible they are farmers on D and bakers on O. Fowls and turnovers.

Ok guys I was at the game...it appeared sloppy because HC came in and tried to brutalize us physically....in some respects it worked because the refs called nothing inn the paint which led to numerous turnovers that should have been fouls...as for turnovers by us there's your answer...fact is we had some huge number of steals which negated the turnovers which in my opinion were not a factor in this game.

Bottom line we led from start to finish and we were never threatened...exactly what we should do against a team like HC...tomorrow is adifferent story. Canisius comes in on a four game winning streak with a win at St. Bonnies. Expect a tougher contest.

Stu, we scored over 90 with our subs in for the last four minutes and still only gave up 69. Sign me up!

Yes, we did meet up, nice to put a face and name to one of the posters. Great game by Buei, 5 assists, 4 steals and no turnovers. Nice to see improved foul shooting from Kante and coach using the bench more. As has been noted HC is a bad team, the play ragged at times and too many easy buckets given up down low despite their not having a strong post presence. I'm not optimistic we can tighten that up dramatically but if we can we have a chance to be good the way our guards shoot, get to the rack and collect fouls. Great to see some of our former players there and connect with some of the administration I have been in touch with by phone and e-mail.
