If you're looking for a team to root for the rest of the way in the NBA playoffs, I offer the Portland Trailblazers because of the connection between their assistant coach Jim Moran, Hofstra (indirectly), my co-worker and me.
Turns out, my co-worker is the brother of Jim Moran, who played at William & Mary (two head coaches before Tony Shaver) after he was high school teammates with Jay Hernandez. My co-worker says Jim and Jay are still pretty good friends and that Jim very nearly transferred from W&M to play at Hofstra.
This, by the way, is about a month after I learned my girlfriend works with the mother of one of JWF's best friends, Austin Volkens.
We live in a small world sometimes.

Re: Portland Trailblazers Asst. Coach & His Hofstra Connecti
Wags it is a small world because I know Jim Moran and his brothers and mother. They live in Syosset Like my self. Jim was a great player had a long time in Spain.

Ha! That's even funnier. Yes, Jim's brother's a good guy. He and I both work at the same place in Syosset. Yeah, Jim was the only one (at least at the time, in 2013, and maybe currently) to have his number retired on that team in Spain.budman wrote:Wags it is a small world because I know Jim Moran and his brothers and mother.
