Big game from Croskey as HU loses to JMU who is undefeated in the CAA. Aside from game stats what is noteworthy here is that the attendance for this game was listed as 2,000. That's more then our men average and maybe as much as JMU's men??

The attendance was that high because the game was at JMU. We got 448 when we hosted them on December 29. Our Women are second-to-last in the CAA in attendance at 528 ahead of only 344 for College of Charleston, who is 5-15. College of Charleston's Men average 10.79 times their Women. JMU's Men average 2,661, which is 19.2% more than their women.

Talking about attendance there were 4,737 fans in the stands at Delaware last night. A team that's not one of the stellar teams in this league!

Any update on Alena Leon’s injury? It’s never good when a player has to be taken off the court in a stretcher.

Struggling mightily against UNCW, a team that's currently 0-10 in CAA play. Blew a 14 point lead, now down 3 points and haven't scored a in a long time. This would be by far the worst loss if the season if they don't figure something out. The most frustrating part is that UNCW isn't doing anything particularly good, Hofstra just looks really bad. The announcers keep pointing out that most of the turnovers (16 so far) are unforced, thanks to sloppy play. And shot selection is not great.

Update: Hofstra lost 59-55, falling to 4-7 in conference play. Can't have 19 turnovers and go 3-10 from the free throw line and expect to win. HU shot 44%, while UNCW shot 33% for the game, UNCW didn't make a field goal over the last 8 minutes of the game, and still outscored HU 18-9 in the 4th quarter. Super disappointing season after hearing how much better this team would be compared to last year.
Bizarre game, 4 technical fouls called, 2 on each team. I don't ever remember watching a women's game where even 1 was called.

What's the general consensus around coach K from those who really know?

I don't follow the women's side enough to have an educated opinion...

Now 4-9 in CAA play, after another dismal weekend of play. Lost to perennial bottom-feeder Towson on Friday, and got blown out by Delaware today. Our last 3 losses have come at the hands of teams under new head coaches. Injuries keep stacking up as well, just to add to the nightmare season. Ashunae Durant hasn't played the past several weeks, and Boogie Brozoski went down today.

Tonight is senior night for the women. The preview article says that they're honoring Aleana Leon, Olivia Askin, and Kayla Minott. Isn't Ashunae Durant also a senior? According to the roster, she's a senior and Minott is a junior.

Women are the #7 seed in the tournament and have a meeting with #10 Charleston on "Pillow-Fight Wednesday" in Philly. Second consecutive year they're forced to play in the play-in game, but at least being 7 is better than last year when they were 9

All conference teams were announced this morning. Not a single Hofstra player was recognized. That might be a first.

http://gohofstra.com/boxscore.aspx?id=8159&path=wbball is the box score of our 88-72 loss. We were down 17 at halftime. Hofstra had more players score in double-digits, 5 to 4, led by E'Lexus Davis's 16. Boogie Brozoski made 2 out of 15 field goals. No Hofstra player made more than 1 free throw and Hofstra shot them 4-14, with Brozoski not attempting any. Charleston was led by Darien Huff and Tanisha Brown. Huff led all scorers with 22, made 8 out of 9 field goals, made all 4 threes, and tied for the lead with 6 assists. Brown had 19 points, 15 rebounds, and 5 assists. Bri Sullivan scored 8 without a miss in 19 minutes.

Hofstra finished 11-19.
