We Have A Great Opponents' Free Throw Percentage

Post by EvanJ »

Opponents' free throw percentage is not normally a statistic. I think that even if it is not something a team controls, it should still be a statistic because it affects games. https://www.teamrankings.com/ncaa-baske ... -throw-pct only includes games between two Division I and says Hofstra is 15th out of 351 with their opponents shooting free throws .660. In Hofstra's six wins in one possession games or overtime, Hofstra has shot free throws over .100 better than their opponents, .763 to .656.

I think in the Rider game, they missed about 10-12 in a row. Monmouth missed a bunch of important ones as well I remember.

Both of those teams shot 50% or worse from the free throw line.

It can be such a huge stat obviously in close games. I like JWF on the foul line, EP, JA, DB in that order. The jury being out on KW and defintely no RG or HS. ST although unorthodox appears to be a good FT shooter. I haven't seen enough of MR to form any opinion on him??
