Damion Lee

Post by ProudofPride »

Damion Lee is graduating and transferring from Drexel. That's a huge blow. He was probably the front-runner for player of the year next season, so now it's hard not to see Juan'ya Green as the favorite.

Green started out as the preseason POTY on some lists, but faded as the season progressed. He's going to have to improve his game to be considered the favorite next year. He's not in the same class as Jenkins, Agudio, Stokes, or Rivera, to name some of our recent top players.

He's not, but neither is the league, nor the other POTY candidates compared to when those guys played in the CAA.

Look for Quincy Ford, as a senior, fresh off his CAA tourney MOP award, to take another step forward and be in the POTY running.

But I felt that Juan'ya would have been among the favorites anyway, if not the top favorite among all candidates, just by being the best player on what should be a contending team (which might even be the preseason CAA favorite), whereas Lee would have been the best player on another mediocre Drexel squad.
