Hofstra Sports Expectations vs Results

So far, this is turning out to be one of the most successful seasons in recent Hofstra history. Looking at the preseason expectations for all of the "major" teams (minus golf, tennis, and cross country, and wrestling since they're in a different conference), every team has either lived up to the expectation or exceeded it. Every fall sport exceeded expectations, basketball seasons are in progress, and both teams are first, and all preseason polls are out for spring sports. It will be interesting to see if this trend continues for the rest of the academic year.

Field Hockey: Preseason #6 (out of 7). Actual: #3, first CAA tournament appearance since 2012
Men’s Basketball: Preseason #1. Currently: Tied for first
Women’s Basketball: Preseason #3. Currently: Alone in first
Men’s Lacrosse: Preseason #2, Sam Llinares Preseason POY
Women’s Lacrosse: Preseason #4
Baseball: Preseason #8
Softball: Preseason #2
