Former Clemson 6-10 forward Ibrahim Djambo is transferring to Hofstra. I'm pretty sure he will have to sit out this year, and will have one year remaining. Will be good since we lose Kone after this year.

Hempstead, NY – Hofstra University Head Men’s Basketball Coach Joe Mihalich announced today that Ibrahim Djambo (pronounced EE-bruh-heem JAHM-boh) has joined the Pride men’s basketball program after transferring from Clemson.

Djambo, a 6-10 forward, will sit out the 2014-15 season per NCAA Transfer rules and will have one season remaining in 2015-16.

“We are thrilled that Ibrahim has decided to join our program,” commented Mihalich. “Ibrahim will add some much needed size to our roster and his energy and enthusiasm for the game will be very important next season as he helps the team during practices. We look forward to his development in the coming year before he showcases his talents during the 2015-16 campaign.”

During his one season at Clemson, Djambo appeared in 32 games while averaging nearly 10 minutes per contest.

Djambo attended Three Rivers Community College in Poplar Bluff, MO for two seasons. During the 2012-13 campaign he averaged 17.7 points and 9.2 rebounds per outing, while also chipping in with 1.5 blocked shots per game in 26 games played. An All-Region XVI Team and All-Midwest Community College Athletic Conference selection, he led his squad in points, rebounds and blocked shots.

In 2011-12, Djambo averaged just over 10 points per game, while appearing in 30 games for the Raiders.

Djambo is a native of Bamako, Mali.

He will be a bench player who can play the 4/5. He will spell Rokas and Walker. All three players are interchangeable. Good part is that he will have 3 years of eligibility.

Stu, he only has one year of eligibility and he projects to be a starter...was a star in JC before a mediocre year at Clemson

Sorry just read about his one year at Clemson. He will still have to prove he will be better than Rokas and Walker.Putting up good numbers in JUCO is a lot different than d-1.

If Clemson was willing to play him almost 10 minutes a game for virtually the entire season, he can't be that terrible.

Still doesnt translate to auto start for him. Has to prove himself on the court and see if he fits into JAMs system. Either way he adds depth at the 4/5 position. he isnt shy about putting up treys.

Great pickup. Wish we could have gotten two years of eligibility from Djambo, but I already liked our frontcourt going into the season as it is now. We should be incredibly solid in 15-16, the redshirt year may be beneficial for Djambo to further develop his offensive game.
