... and Sabety just picked up his fourth foul on another ticky-tack call. Super.

Re: Towson Today
What was that 5th foul on Sabety? What a joke.
Re: Towson Today
DAMN. We need another big guy who can play. It's insane no one can sub in for Sabety and now he's fouled out again. Now we're beyond small compared to Townson. I wish Sabety was a little more careful on that last block-attempt.
Re: Towson Today
Sabety was a bit weak in the first half but came into the second half swinging. Two major blocks by Sabety and some nice rebounds - all with 4 fouls. That is not easy to do.
JWF carrying the team. He's ridiculously good

Re: Towson Today
This team is literally a one-man show. Someone has to step up. Right now JWF has 27 points, the rest of the team has 30 combined.
Re: Towson Today
Without Rok and Sabety in earlier foul trouble, and now fouled out, It's been a layup drill for Towson... crushing Hofstra in the paint, 38-8.
Half the shot attempts (26 of 52), but what else is knew, are from 3.
JWF a chance to tie on a late 3 but missed. Need a stop with under 2 to go, Towson up, 61-58.

Re: Towson Today
Pemberton came in big at the beginning of the season... feel like he lost his touch. Wonder if this has anything to do with coaching? Not sure what it is.

Re: Towson Today
We made 15 of 24 free throws, and lost by 4.
Re: Towson Today
I think he'll be fine. He stepped up earlier because he had to. Then, as Powers and then JWF each did, he took more of a backseat to them, so hard to get back in the scoring flow. There was one game recently, after Eli was scoring a lot early in the year, and after Powers then had his run for a few games, and after JWF subsequently took that mantle over as the primary scorer... Powers was limited to about 11 minutes I think, because of illness. And in that game, Pemberton returned to what he had been early in the year. So I think he'll grow as he gets into his 2nd, 3rd, 4th years.Mike34 wrote: Pemberton came in big at the beginning of the season... feel like he lost his touch. Re: Towson Today
Yet again. We've seen this in too many tight CAA games this year. It's now going to cause Hofstra to have to play that extra game at the beginning of the tourney.ProudofPride wrote:We made 15 of 24 free throws, and lost by 4.
Drexel surprised W&M by 18 at home and Northeastern, down 37-21 at the half at Charleston, used a 52-pt second half to get a one-point win.
That puts Northeastern and W&M in a tie at 7-6, taking up the 5 and 6 spots, with Elon (7-5) in fourth place but looking like they're about to lose at Delaware in OT to join NU and W&M at 7-6.
So Hofstra (falling to 4-9) is three back of the 6 spot with five to play. All but assures that they're going to be playing in the opening round and have to win four games in four days (though they likely won't get that far anyway).
Re: Towson Today
Totally agree. Did the same thing....why is there no quality control in the League for these feeds. You go on the sidearm site and it tells you the video feed starts at 6:45 and yet there was nothing until well after the posted game time of 7 pm.ProudofPride wrote:I had to switch to Hofstra audio with the Towson video, the background noise was giving me a headache. I also can't deal with their pronunciation of Sabety's last name. Good decision anyway since the Towson announcers are so horrible, WRHU students are much better. Sometimes it's hard to believe other schools pay their play-by-play and color announcers for how bad they are.
Enough!
Re: Towson Today
Hofstra shot two-pointers, three-pointers, and free throws poorly in the second half. Towson had offensive rebounds from half of their misses.
Re: Towson Today
How about two things...he's injured and for God Sakes he's a freshman...enough with the coaching alreadyMike34 wrote:Pemberton came in big at the beginning of the season... feel like he lost his touch. Wonder if this has anything to do with coaching? Not sure what it is.
Re: Towson Today
After the last game, Joe talked about the 3 days in March being all that mattered and somebody asked him what if it's 4 days? His response was that they weren't even thinking about that. Well after tonight, he'll need to think about it because it will be a reality. I hate to be negative because I love Hofstra hoops but this season is officially over and it's very disappointing. Thought the team turned the corner at the end of the OOC schedule but they have just been dreadful in conference play. And what's up with Gustys? Is he out for the year? We could have used him tonight again a good rebounding team which was the reason we lost.
At this point we really need to focus on the off season and hope the staff lands at least 2 difference makers in the spring signing period otherwise it could be another long season next year too.

Re: Towson Today
We just don't have the bodies and depth to be a factor this year. Without Rok available we are severely limited upfront, playing seven guys against teams like Towson who played 11 guys. This has to change. We need more and bigger bodies to compete in this League. And I'm sorry, we don't play Walker at all...maybe he should be run off to free that scolarship for next year...can't believe that he can't give us something...it's not like Greer is killing it.
Re: Towson Today
That has been the story this whole season...we shoot over 70 percent and we win a few more games...very simpleProudofPride wrote:We made 15 of 24 free throws, and lost by 4.
Re: Towson Today
Totally agree. We can blame several things on coaching but Pemberton isn't one of them. He hasn't lost his touch. He still shoots it well, he just plays within the offense and rarely forces things. He plays well beyond his years. At the same time, you can't expect perfection from a freshman. Turnovers will happen.HUSID80 wrote:How about two things...he's injured and for God Sakes he's a freshman...enough with the coaching alreadyMike34 wrote:Pemberton came in big at the beginning of the season... feel like he lost his touch.
