Hofstra just announced the addition of a player who had already signed with us, and was supposed to be a part of this year's freshman class. Her signing was announced over a year ago. I wonder what happened that she didn't play this year, she's registered and is an active student at the university. At least it'll be some much needed height for this year

Pop with all due respect to you and player and coaches I will question her height. When we had our fab five recruiting class 5 years back, every recruit came in 2 inches shorter that their listed height in high school. Syndi Epps our 5th year senior came in touted at 6ft1 she is 5ft11. Asia jackson was touted at 5ft7 and came in 5ft5.

LOL welcome to hs/college recruiting Stu!

Wanna guess how many mens hoops and football players stats have the same "errors" coming from HS to college?

The women won a game!
They were down 1: in the 4th quarter and came back and won. Looks like there was some magic in the Mack this weekend between the men last night and women today.

William & Mary made 2 free throws to go up 52-39 with 9:47 left. Hofstra took the lead with 2:21 left and won 64-61, which ended their 6 game losing streak. Hofstra trailed for 25:57 from early in the second quarter until Krystal Luciano gave Hofstra the lead with 2:21 left. William & Mary made 23 field goals, but only 3 were in the fourth quarter. Ashunae Durant led all players with 23 points and 11 rebounds. The next most points was 12 by Alexandra Masaquel of William & Mary and Hofstra's Luciano.

W&M currently on a 9-0 run, up 27-12 in the middle of the 2nd quarter. Hofstra is 3-16 from the field in the game at this point (18.8%), and the Tribe is shooting 43.5%, including over 57% in the second quarter. Ugly.

Halftime update. The second quarter was one of the worst performances I've seen from this team this year, and based on their record, they've played plenty of bad basketball, they're down 46-23. W&M scored 32 points in the 2nd quarter alone, on 70.6% shooting. 3 assists to go along with turnovers for HU, and when no one can figure out how to score the basketball, there's no margin to turn the ball over. I thought maybe they learned something after beating this team on Sunday, but clearly William and Mary has made adjustments since then, and Hofstra looks like they've never touched a basketball before.

A terrific 4th quarter helped the team overcome a 16 point deficit to beat Charleston 85-81! The first half was about as ugly as it gets, but great job to the entire team for figuring it out and managing to win. Rebounding came up big in the second half, especially the 4th quarter. 3 in double figures tonight (Luciano, Leon, Durant), and 2 with double-doubles (Durant and Luciano). Leon was 1 rebound away from one as well. I don't remember the last time this team had a player with a point/assist double-double and another with a point/rebound double-double in the same game.

This is what happens when you have three scoring options instead of two. You score points. The last few games we struggled to score more than 50 points. This is not the same team as last year. Loftus, White and Faulk supplied inside scoring and a reliable outside shooter. Also Faulk took the pressure off of Luciano. Three seniors who lead the team on and off the court. it mirrors the mens team who lost Green, tanksley and koon.

Hofstra is at Delaware at 5:00 P.M. on American Sports Network, which will be shown here as part of a CAA doubleheader on SNY. SNY is showing Elon at James Madison at 3:00 P.M. SNY is showing UNC Wilmington at Elon in Men's Basketball delayed now, and including both genders SNY is showing 3 CAA games in 8 hours.

HU down 21-35 at the half, shooting a dismal 18.5% while allowing the chickens shoot 53.6%. Delaware scored 44 and 42 points total in the last 2 games, so they're not the best offensive team either, but apparently against us they are. We were held without a field goal for the last 5:08 of the second quarter, and are 0-11 from 3 the entire first half. I wish the team would be a little more selective with the shots, I feel like they're desperately just chucking way too many up, and we don't have the shooters to do that. We also desperately need some height, we started Ashunae Durant (5-10) and Sydni Epps (5-11) as forwards, while UD started Makeda Nicholas (6-1), Hannah Jardine (6-1) and Nicole Enabosi (6-0).

Hofstra lost 56-45. lets break this game down in simple forms. Team shot 14-60 about 23% from the field. take away Ashune Durants 7-13 and the team shot 7-48 or about 15% You are not going to win any game with stats like that. 3 pt pct even worse as team shot 2-24 about 8%. Take away Olivia Askins 2-8 and its 0-16.
Team height I have been complaining about that for years. Two of the players PoP pointed out who are over 6ft tall are from Long Island. Jardin from Canada is 6ft1 and a three point shooter. Delaware has 6 players who are over 6ft on their roster. We have # and only 1 sees any minutes at all.

3 technical fouls issued to Hofstra in the game tonight... 2 on Krista which got her ejected, and one on an assistant 10 seconds later for taking too long to put in a replacement for a player who fouled out. What was a 3 point game a minute ago is now a 12 point game thanks to all Hofstra momentum being destroyed. They were actually looking decent against the top team in the conference before this debacle.
29 free throws for Elon, 7 for Hofstra. That's the difference in the game right there.
