Re: MBB Game 20 William & Mary, Jan 25 (Thu), 7 PM
Lou Holtz used to have a mantra: WIN = What's important now Sorry to get on Speedy again, but he could take a little of that advice. Tonight, the "now" part was to order TT to stop shooting 3's (1/12 ???) and guard the only guy on the other team who was scoring. Win the game you are playin...

Re: MBB Game 18 Hampton, Jan 18 (Thu), 7 PM
Not to get too contentious, but... Speedy, whom I love, needs to take some accountability. Not once has he ever said we need to prepare/adjust/motivate better. If the team gets off to continually bad starts, maybe he needs to look in the mirror. The presser's are basically unwatchable. I am tired of...

Re: MBB Game 18 Hampton, Jan 18 (Thu), 7 PM
no benching the starters. hate the idea in general, but they're not good enough to show up another team like that. they could lose to molloy the way this team is playing, starters and bench included. can't afford to take anyone lightly. 100%. Not starting well, so don't play your best players? Does...

Re: MBB Game 14 Charleston, Jan 4 (Thu), 7 PM
Anyone else find it odd that the College of Charleston assistant coach was yelling during our free throws? "Octagon! Octagon! Octagon!" Never seen that before. Pretty rude imo. It's not like it changed the outcome of the game, we were ice cold end of that second half, but still, let's see...

Re: Hofstra Lacrosse 2024
I wouldn't equate lack of interest with this board with lack of interest in the program. I neither have the time, nor the inclination to engage with the long winded buffoonery I read here. However, I still care deeply about the program.

Re: MBB Game 02 vs. Princeton, Nov 10 (Fri), 7 PM
Princeton took away the 3pt line and doubled TT, and Speedy didn't have the answer until it was too late (Dubar). Game, set, match. This will be our opposition's blueprint- guard the three and we sputter. Speedy and co will need make adjustments before games get out of hand. TT doesn't see the floor...

Re: 2023 NIT
No way that attendance figure was right. Entire lower section was nearly full. Had to be close to 3500. As far as engagement/noise- was probably the best crowd of the year. Shame it happened during spring break, but they were vocal and into the game until CU opened up about a 15 point lead. Got real...

Re: Men's Basketball Schedule 2022-2023
I've been there and didn't have a problem but NYC is not what it was a few years ago. I'll watch on TV Your loss. I go into city all the time for work and have had zero issues. Me too. This is nothing. I'm old enough to remember when it was really bad, 30 years ago. Don't believe everything you rea...

Re: Transfer Portal
Transfer from Davidson has some polish to his game, both ends of the court. Not a shooter, it seems, but we have plenty of them. Good size, handle, can finish around the rim. He looks like a starter to me. Looks like we have a pretty good eight man rotation.

Re: Jay Wright
I bet Jay takes a year off, then goes to the NBA. He was already making 6mm per yr...higher than I thought, and about middle of the pack for nba head coaches. He could probably get in the 8-10 range, I'm guessing. Clearly it wouldn't be for the money, though. It would be for the challenge, if he wer...

Maybe they could convert it to a dome (like the Carrier) and play basketball, soccer, baseball and softball there too. You could tear down the Mack and all the other sports fields and create more parking or maybe plant more tulips.

Re: Other Tournaments
I doubt any entrance fee is a barrier to playing in any tournament. I bristle when its implied we are some nickel and dime basketball operation. In general we don't do things on the cheap- full scholarships, fully staffed, top notch facilities. The hoops team has a pretty good budget and spending a ...

Re: NCAAT 2022 Thread
We didn't play D as it should be played because ours was an essentially flawed roster. Speedy was trying to put lipstick on a pig by cheating with help defense, thus exposing our flanks to 3 pointers. Teams would kill us in the post otherwise. And Estrada can cry me a river. You make choices in life...

Re: Other Tournaments
Boy, we treat this last season as a DISASTER on these boards! We win more than 20 games, beat a Sweet 16 team, Arkansas and find two players who will be real good for us over the next couple of years in Estrada and Dubar. Sure we all want BETTER fellas, but the foundation for greater success is in ...
