Re: The Social Issue Thread

It is really amazing that the greatest and most massive election fraud just happened without leaving any evidence and only affected the top of the ballot. Republicans fared quite well down ballot. Our bipartisan election officials including Trump appointees Krebs and Ware called it the "most se...

Re: 2021 Men's Lacrosse

Nice to see the men and women come away with wins today; 13-6+17-11 respectively. I know it is just perception and things randomize out over time but there are stretches of time where I think I am a jinx. When I am away our team flourishes and when I return they seem to flounder but I experienced th...

Wags, I completely agree with your comments on Saturdays game and more importantly also on social issues. Patriotism is no more about the rituals than being religious is. Honoring the values by behaving accordingly is. Many of us kneel to pray, some to propose; there is nothing inherently more respe...

Re: Game #18 vs Drexel Feb 6 2pm

We ratcheted up the pressure in the 2nd half helping to create 22 to's and 9 steals for the game. Credit Drexel with 20 assists and shooting 62% from the floor and from 3 and 85% from the line.

Re: Game#14 vs Towson

Welcome maske; it is great to have you and your son with us. As Polito notes our coaches seem to have confidence in Vukasin. He appears composed and makes good decisions with the ball. As he grows stronger, more confident and agressive his game and contribution will grow. I gather you have 2 more ch...

Re: Game#12 vs Delaware

Probably like most of us I share Politos feelings. What struck me was we were in the bonus and they had 2 key players with 4 fouls with quite a bit of time left. For the most part we seemed to hoist threes and not even try to capitalize.

Re: A Kudos to Evan (and HUSID)!

We may not always share the same opinions. It would be boring and we wouldn't learn much if we did. What we share is a love for Hofstra and a passion for Hofstra athletics. Given the divisiveness of the times, it is a credit to all how civil and apolitical the board has remained. Let's hope our numb...

I have long had the same thought 01. Thanks for posting. I am currently in Fl. and hope to return in early to mid May. I live by lake of the Isles. I don't drive but still bike. Not sure what the board permits in terms of personal info.

Re: Game 6 vs St Bonaventure

I left it alone also and was annoyed by it. I have been watching Hofstra Bball since 1953 and Caleb is far from the worst. He is quick, at 6 3 has excellent length for a point, plays outstanding defense. He is young and has a ways to go offensively but is growing and beginning to produce a bit more....

Re: Now its game 5 against Monmouth

One of the game write ups referred to Kante as "impaired". Does anyone know anything about this or the status of Stafford or Zion? In addition to the 24-10 differential in turn overs, they had 13 steals to our 7. Ball handling along with perimeter defense obviously needs to improve. It is ...

It is true that the RATE of hospitalizations and deaths has declined as more younger people get it and our health community learn how to deal with it more effectively but all absolute numbers are increasing as new cases are being added exponentially. We are at around 12:8 million cumulative cases af...

Re: MBB Recruits 2021

Well coached indeed Captain. 24+4 in 62, 23+1 in 59. Jakabauskas was 5 7 when he graduated from, I believe Bishop Loughlin. Iriving transferred in from Arizona and I believe led the nation in rebounding 1 year. Tomlin came to us via Utah. My time being the mid to late fifties I got to see a lot of g...

Re: MBB Recruits 2021

Jeffersons contribution to Hofstra hoops in the early 60's was Jim Boatwright. We were an elite div. 2 team at that time. Jim was around 6 3 and an important player for us and at Jefferson. I had graduated in 59 but was taking grad. courses part time in the evening the next couple of years so didn't...

Re: MBB Recruits 2021

As a promising, albeit shaky, season approaches it is great to see all the energy returning to the board. Thus far we have a tough/attractive OOC schedule. We have a good deal of depth and with Covid it is a particularly important year to develop and use it. My understanding is because of Covid, sen...

Fantastic! I'm stoked. Great job, now a big! Polito, I know you are referencing Va. Tech + Pitt but we also beat out Wake + NC St.; FOUR ACC teams. Trivia question for you guys. We had a star from Jefferson when this fossil went to Hofstra. He played under Butch VBK.

Re: Looking Ahead to 2020-2021 season

Yes, the pandemic numbers are horrific and things look shaky, we can only hope. Triple c, our 2 transfers from Pit. were both top 100 recruits on 1 or more lists. Peacock will add more size and athleticism at guard. The frosh from Xavier was a stellar defensive player but lost her sr. yr. to a torn ...

Re: Looking Ahead to 2020-2021 season

Thanks Evan for all your continuing input. Having won just 3 or 4 games and none in conference it is indeed not surprising our ladies have been picked last. However that will be our most improved program over the next 3 years or so and is unlikely to finish in the bottom 2 or perhaps 3 this year and...
