Re: 2023-2024 Men's Basketball Nonconference Opponents

It is the first time they were ever ranked. Their NET is fourth in the American (AAC). If they do not win the AAC Tournament, we will see if they get treated like teams with that NET normally do, or treated like poll voters treat them. Our win by 19 is the sixth largest margin of victory by a curren...

Re: MBB Game 29 Elon, Feb. 24 (Sat), 7 PM

I found the previous time we had at least five players with at least 3 assists against a Division I team. It was an 82-57 win at William & Mary on February 20, 2006. I remember that game because it was the last Monday of the regular season, and it was the only CAA game that day because W&M a...

Re: MBB Game 29 Elon, Feb. 24 (Sat), 7 PM

We won 87-64. Jayden Henriquez banked in a three for his first career points. We ended with him, Sunday, Plotnikov, Robinson, and Farmer playing. We used ten players, and our only scoreless player was Sunday, who did not shoot. Thomas led all players with 25 points. He shot 9-26 from twos 4-12 and t...

Re: Next Year's Team

I think I saw it posted somewhere that Thomas was on a list of potential 2nd round NBA picks. Not sure how real that is, but made me wonder what if in a crazy world Thomas got drafted and Estrada didn’t. That would be a heck of a recruiting tool! Estrada is way more likely to graduate being known f...

Re: MBB Game 28 Drexel, Feb. 22 (Thu), 7 PM

Of 362 teams, we are last in free throws attempted per game, and 18th worst in free throws made per game differential. We committed 16 more fouls than our opponents, but our opponents made 107 more free throws. On a batter note, we shoot twos .560, and our opponents shoot twos .464. They don't keep ...

Re: MBB Game 28 Drexel, Feb. 22 (Thu), 7 PM

You have Delaware twice here I guess that's supposed to be Drexel. How's the tie breaker with Drexel determined. I know we beat both Towson and Delaware. I edited to correct it. If we tie with Drexel and Towson like we are now, we have the best three-way head-to-head, and we also win two-way or thr...

Re: MBB Game 28 Drexel, Feb. 22 (Thu), 7 PM

Drexel had only 5 points off turnovers. They had 2 more points not off turnovers than us. What odds could you have gotten on Carlos getting twice as many rebounds as Amari Williams? I'm not going to type normal statistics. Here are analytics: In efficiency, Thomas led with 28, Williams had 18, and D...

Re: MBB Game 28 Drexel, Feb. 22 (Thu), 7 PM

We went up 8, went down 3, and lead 33-32 at halftime. Drexel has five players with 6 points and one player with 2 points, meaning that they are on pace to have five players score 12, allow 66, and lose. Thomas has 14 points, and is the only player on either team with more than 6. Dubar attempted 3 ...

I know, but I just saw what the women’s national team in soccer was able to accomplish. Moneywise compare that to the men, and they are actually getting a higher percentage, even though they bring in a small fraction of the revenue There are some things to note. One is that the women are better tha...

We rarely play Saturday home games at night, but we hosted Towson at night for CBS Sports Network, and I do not know if this game had to be a night game to get on MSG. All seven CAA games on Saturday or Monday will be on TV, with three on CBS Sports Network. Our game will be the only Saturday CAA ga...

Number 13 Alabama won 98-93 in overtime hosting Number 24 Florida. While up 1, Alabama missed, and Estrada got the offensive rebound by the basket and scored to go up 3. Florida missed a three, fouled with 0.5 seconds left, and Alabama made 2 free throws for the final score. Estrada had 20 points fr...

I watched the end of the long game, which was 90-86. South Florida scored 41 in the last 8:36, including three possessions that totaled 14 points. On one possession, they made two free throws from a flagrant foul that let them keep the ball and two free throws from a regular foul. On another possess...

We scored 82 and allowed 62. The points allowed is farther away from average than points scored, so by that measure our defense was better than our offense.

Re: MBB Game 27 Northeastern, Feb. 17 (Sat), 2 PM

The CAA's standard of requiring 2.5 free throws made per game to qualify for the free throw percentage leaders is too high. Especially in today's game, when FTA are so much lower than they used to be while everyone's jacking up 3s. I checked the free throws attempted per team per game in the NCAA G...

Re: MBB Game 27 Northeastern, Feb. 17 (Sat), 2 PM

The CAA's standard of requiring 2.5 free throws made per game to qualify for the free throw percentage leaders is too high. We do not have anybody listed because Thomas leads us with 2.37 made, and Towson's Charles Thompson is the fifteenth and final player listed showing .586. Being in the leaders ...

Re: MBB Game 27 Northeastern, Feb. 17 (Sat), 2 PM

UNCW was favored by 16.5. Elon had an early 2 point lead, but UNCW went on a run to lead by 15 at 34-19. They led 42-36 at halftime. Elon tied it at 44, but UNCW went back up. Elon made a three to go up 65-63 with 5:36 left. UNCW went up 3, and Elon called their last timeout with 19 seconds left. I ...
