Re: MBB Game 30 @UNCW, Feb. 29 (Thu), 7 PM
D-Stone just loving the N.C. air. We need to play more games there! Dubar - has all the tools in a tool box - I always said he was our best player - and still believe that - if he could be more consistent and go to the hoop more he'd be one of the all-time greats here - his size athleticism and abi...

Re: MBB Game 19 @ Stony Brook, Jan 22 (Mon), 9 PM
I am a huge fan of DD - and if he plays another year - I get the idea of him considering a P5 team - for better competition and money - but as big of a fan I am of his I am not sure his outside game converts well against the better P5 teams and players I think DD outside shot is easy for those bette...

DUBAR - having the year I always thought - hoped - he would have. Need him to keep it up - and hopefully gives us time to get Thomas on track.

Re: MBB Game 16 @Northeastern, Jan 11 (Thu), 7 PM
So I know getting some scoring help outside of the big 3 is a pretty obvious x-factor for Hofstra, but here's an interesting stat I came across that backs it up to keep in mind for tonight and going forward: 7 points for Bryce Washington: - When Bryce has scored 7+ pts in a game Hofstra is 8-1 this...

Re: MBB Game 13 @ St. John's (UBS Arena), Dec 30 (Sat), 12 Noon
wags your last paragraph sounded like it was written by Polito If they could instead get the local type of tourney (that we've been talking about for ages) with all local teams and play it annually at UBS or the Coliseum, maybe that could help. Plenty of local programs in the area and now, not one,...

Yeah - that spread seems about right - thought itd be 7-8 points - but certainly should be one of our easier games this season.

Re: MBB Game 02 vs. Princeton, Nov 10 (Fri), 7 PM
No Shame losing to a Princeton team - they are traditionally a well oiled team. The way we played was a bit disappointing. I think: Fritz has to be better than what we saw Friday. Fritz/Carlos should be able to develop into a nice pick/roll combo - with Fritz - for a bigman - having a nice bullet(s)...

Re: MBB Game 02 vs. Princeton, Nov 10 (Fri), 7 PM
Agree - I think this game is a toss-up. A slight homecourt advantage for us is the difference.
Is Princeton the "wanna-be" member of the CAA - they have 5 games on their '23-'24 schedule this year against CAA foes (Hofstra, Monmouth, N'eastern, Drexel, Delaware).

Re: Mens basketball 2023-24
Dubar is going to have a tough time making a case for having his uniform number retired (started his career wearing "0" - last year wore "55" - and this year he is sporting "1")triplec2195 wrote:Our 2023-2024 team now on gohofstra. https://gohofstra.com/sports/mens-basketball/roster

Re: Hofstra softball 2023
I mean she is from LI, great way to get yourself into the industry, had some connections I'd imagine. She was an art history major, soooooo... yeah, gotta find a real job somewhere. thought she was going into teaching (and I am guessing a coaching gig) - betting this is a cool summer job - good for...

Re: Transfer Portal
Fearless forecast: The most important addition to the rotation next year is already at Hofstra….Khalil Farmer. By the end of next season he’ll be starting. Good size, quick, excellent shooter, will play strong defense and is a team player. Speculating that Amar’e Marshall transferred out because he...

Wilmoth
Silas
Fritz
Shema (maybe)
I am starting to think - as someone else said - that maybe Manyang was not really in HU future (maybe it was us and not him deciding to him leaving)

Re: Transfer Portal
Starting lineup will be Fritz, Carlos, Thomas, Dunbar and Plotnikov with Washington, Farmer and Sunday getting minutes off the bench. Robinson will redshirt. , Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk and...no playing time for Wilmoth - i know it is an oversight but he could start too or major minutes off ...

Re: Transfer Portal
Interesting pickup! Where Sunday is a post up player in the Warren Williams mold, Fritz seems to play more to Nelson's style (but as a much more skilled scorer). The only question/concern for me.... Fritz is only listed at 215 lbs, can he hold up defensively in the post against Amari Williams/Thomp...

Re: Transfer Portal
Wilmuth will start, trust me. He didn't come here to sit on the bench. Agree; the big question is will they try and force him into the 5 like they did with Cramer or will he start at 4 and Dubar slides to the 3. Agree and Agree Would love to see Sunday as THE BIG and Wilmoth and Dubar as forwards -...

Silas with big time offers out of high school .. Rutgers, Wake, Nebraska, St John’s, K-State, Oregon amongst others. Not sure who was in front of him at Iona but with 3 years could be a great find for us. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zo4M9cSQKQo Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Nice signing - ...

Re: Transfer Portal
With all due respect to the schools mentioned here, there does not seem to be much quality interest in Manyang. He would be better off staying with us: https://twitter.com/ThePortalReport/status/1646938055662510194?s=20 This might indicate it was less his decision and more Hofstra's decision. Agree...
