Re: Raheem Morris

Raheem back in the driver's seat in Atlanta, as he beats out Bill Belichick for the job. That puts us back at two Hofstra alums as head coaches in the four major sports.

That road trip on 1/11 and 1/13 is an tough one- going from Boston on a Thursday night to North Carolina for a Saturday game.

Re: Hofstra softball 2023

I mean she is from LI, great way to get yourself into the industry, had some connections I'd imagine. She was an art history major, soooooo... yeah, gotta find a real job somewhere.

Re: Hofstra softball 2023

If anyone was watching the rain delay during the Mets game tonight, you might have seen a familiar face- former pitcher Sarah Cornell is part of the grounds crew at Citi Field now.

I know. But some guys are lifers- Matt Senk could have walked away from Stony brook a decade ago after taking them to the CWS.

Re: Hofstra Selects Frank Catalanotto as Baseball Coach

Not exactly a glowing review from him on what he's been left with. We'll see how quickly he can leave his mark.

Also doesn't seem like he'll be around for TOO long. A bunch of "next step" type comments, which leads me to believe (and for sure his right to be) looking at what's next.

Sara Michalowski Marino just got a promotion to Assoc. Head Coach at Mizzou, so I'd take her name off the list.

Re: University of Hartford

With Hartford now gone What is keeping Northeastern in the CAA Could NU be looking to change conference I know the patriot would be their first choice but they would be blocked by BU Could they be looking to go back to the AE or possibly the A-10 I don't see why they would want to, at least in term...

Re: SB Coach Jay Miller retiring

I could see them promoting associate head coach Julie Meyer, who has certainly paid her dues as an assistant. She has hitting background so would be key to also bring in a seasoned pitching coach beside her if they go that route. Yeah, they could. Absolutely nothing against Julie- she's been awesom...

SB Coach Jay Miller retiring

https://gohofstra.com/news/2021/6/8/softball-sb-miller-announces-retirement-concludes-legendary-career.aspx While he had a legendary career, it didn't seem he could bring that magic touch to Bill Edwards Stadium. What he was, however, was an excellent caretaker at a point where the program could hav...

Re: Looking Ahead to 2020-2021 season

Just like with MLB players flying in and out, I'm sure that if the schools commits to frequent testing of its athletes, it could be allowed to bypass the rules. As it is, the "enforcement" of it only comes from people that are flying in.

Re: Raheem Morris

I am surprised there has not been an announcement on the GoHofstra website. A Hofstra Athletics alum won the Stanley Cup, and it got some retweets and that's about it. Nothing on the website, nothing on Instagram, nothing from the University's social media channels. So, no, I'm not surprised there ...

All winter athletes, even if they compete this year, will get an extra year of eligibility and an extra year to complete it. Big news!

2024/26 Lacrosse QFs

The NCAA announced locations for hundreds of events, including the lacrosse quarterfinals, through 2027. Hofstra will again be hosting, both in 2024 and 2026. Crazy to think that far out, but good on the university for putting it together and being able to host.

Re: HU Alum Jon Cooper Leads Tampa Bay Into NHL EC finals

Six (plus) years later, here we are again with his Lightning in the Stanley Cup Final. At the expense of his former next-door neighbors, of course, but good luck to Coach Cooper!
