Re: Charleston Classic
Excellent! I was wondering what type of tourney we would be in this fall (following last years Paradise Jam). Gotta figure there are at least 2 games for HU against big name opponents at this event. Add to it Kentucky to open the season. That should be at least three top-50 games in the OCC. Maybe ...

Re: MBB recruits 2016
Emile Blackman from Niagra will be graduating and transferring. Played at LIU Post and Half Hollow Hills before Niagra. Averaged 16 per game last season. 6-4 guard/forward. Very athletic. Not sure he fills any need but would be a good player to have for depth. Not sure he'd want to come here as he'd...

Do we need UNCW to lose on Saturday to get the 1 seed?

Re: MBB recruits 2016
Coach Farrelly in the pregame chalk talk mentioned that the staff has been out in Idaho and West Texas this week, recruiting JUCO players. I'm assuming that means we were scouting Che Bob again at South Plains CC, perhaps looking at Pape Diatta, 6-7 wing at Southern Idaho. Diatta would be a big sco...

Re: MBB recruits 2016
I would rather recruit a one- or two-star player who improves than a three-star player who doesn't. And Polito, you better take a chill pill before tonight's game vs. W&M. I don't want to have to pull you in from the ledge after another HU loss. : ) Of course you'd rather have a 1 or 2 star who...

Re: MBB recruits 2016
Funny how we're always reading about all the St. John's and Seton Hall recruits coming for visits but we NEVER hear about recruits visiting Hofstra...Anybody hearing anything??? Don't believe any visits are scheduled but we are going after a bunch of JC wings. Che Bob is one and a few other guys ar...

Re: MBB recruits 2016
Copeland is the starter at 6ft9 and plays 33 minutes a game. he is only a soph.with 6ft9 Mourning and 6ft8 Agau plus the Louisville transfer, it is a pretty crowded front court. Walker will not be here next year. neither will Djambo. That leaves only Sabaty and Gustys next year.Do the math. Where w...

They've already signed two more big men for next year and he is not starting... handwriting on the wall[/quote]
What big men have they signed? I don't see any on their espn or rivals recruing page.

Re: Potential LI recruits
Disregarding LUHI and juniors, Jamel Allen, Mike Almonacy, Steven Torre and Shane Gatling would probably be considered the best. Of them Almonacy and Allen are the only locks to play D1. Almonacy is already committed to stony brook. Allen has a Hofstra offer but they apparently want him to red shirt...

Evan, my friend, I hope you are not being for real right now...you do not want to go down this road with me :P . For kicks and giggles, what do I propose? Well for starters you happened to pick the total FLUKE yrs that 'Cuse and UConn are not ranked - you're talking about perennial national powers ...

Re: St. Bonaventure Game Preview
1. Best is certainly not Nichols. He's a great player but Juan'ya Green is our best player and the favorite for CAA player of the year. After Juan'ya the best was Ameen Tanksley last year, but this year it's been Brian Bernardi. One of the best shooters in the county. 2. Were the favorite in most pr...

Re: Paradise Jam 2015
Koon played well for the most part last night and has gotten better each game. He was awful against Canisius and wasn't very good against FSU either. The fact that he continues to get better hopefully means it's just rust. And yes he does have good stats but if you actually watch the games and not f...

Re: Paradise Jam 2015
My thoughts on tonight/the season as a whole -Were allowing way too many second chance opportunities. We need to crash the boards more effectively and box out. -Seeing some of the same problems as last year on D. Our help defense in man and overall defense in zone is ineffective. It seems like guys ...

Re: Scheduling Question
Thanks for the input HUSID, some fair points of course - I don't discount the main issues, and granted my thought is HU biased and a long shot, BUT it's also not impossible. Mids play bigs every year, and they've done it repeatedly IN THE CAA - except HU. NE gets MICHIGAN ST and UD got UVA ... AT H...

Re: Scheduling Question
While that might be appealing, I don't understand why they would do that because if they are a larger team they would be the ones with ties to MSG and Barclays not us. What leverage do we have on the Garden or barclays? It's not like we have a deal with them to give us games

Re: MBB recruits 2016
Why WKU? Strong feeling I have. Recent visit which he seemed to enjoy and he's a top priority for them. Also they're in a higher conference than his other options and he has potential to get early playing time. If I had to put odds on it id say 65% wku 15% Murray state and then the rest split betwe...
